  7. This patch for the Windows version of iF-16.
  8.  
  9. Improvements:
  10.  
  11. 1.  "Check six" views implemented.
  12. "Check six" functions by allowing pilots to look 180 degrees to the rear
  13. over either their left or right shoulder. From this viewpoint, pilots will
  14. see the dorsal surface of their aircraft and be able to view, with some
  15. obstruction from the ejection seat and tailfin, their entire rear aspect.

  17. In addition to the left and right view, "check six" works in two modes -
  18. Quick and Sticky. Quick view shows the rear aspect only for the length of
  19. time which you depress the view key. Sticky mode locks the rear aspect view
  20. until you switch back to a front view.

  22. Controls for the check-six view are as follows:
  23.  
  24. * Numbers 9 and 0 (zero) on the typewriter keys select left or right rear
  25. aspect respectively.
  26.  
  27. These two keys alone activate check-six in Quick mode.
  28.  
  29. * To use check-six in Sticky mode, hold a Shift key while you tap either 9
  30. or 0 (zero). The view will be locked until you select a new view key.

  32. 2.  The frame rate has been improved.
  33.  
  34. 3.  For CH joysticks, the coolie-hat up direction now works.
  35.  
  36. 4.  Laser designation has been overhauled.  The LANTIRN will now recognize
  37. designation by ground troops and autodesignation will work properly.
  38.         A. Gain altitude.
  39.         B. Ground Radar must be turned off.
  40.         C. Select LGB - you want the LGB to be  in CCIP mode (will be
  41. displayed            on the HUD).
  42.         D. Once the target has been designated by the ground troops the
  43. aiming            recticle will appear.
  44.         E. Drop the bomb.

  46. 5.  The Messaging & Comms System will work in two player game in addition to
  47. network play.

  49. Patch Usage
  50.  
  51. Double-click on the patch file. If you did not install to the default directory
  52. of C:\I-Magic\IF16, you must select the correct directory when prompted.
  53. Press the unzip button to install the patch. Be sure to leave the two
  54. check boxes selected.
